Sir Jorkin Depeanits Knudson (September 19, 1895 – February 24, 1967), better known as his pen name JD, was an American singer, writer, author, animator, songwriter, musician, director, businessman, artist, autist and conspiracy theorist best known for creating the multimedia crossover franchise known as CrösS;OVEr.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Knudson was born on September 19, 1895.

Career[edit | edit source]

With new form of storytelling being envisioned across Europe and the United States, Knudson decided that he wanted to create a "magnum opus" of storytelling. Knudson envisioned a story that incorporated all forms of fiction and he wanted to use the new and emerging medium of animation to collect all this works of fiction into a new and profound work of art.

Having his story planned out, on November 9, 1919, Sir Knudson created the prototype of Felix the Cat (known as Master Tom at the time) as a pilot to his new magnum opus. The pilot prototype debuted in a Paramount Pictures short titled Feline Follies. The pilot was a huge success and Knudson quickly set to work on his new story. Knudson claimed that John King of Paramount Magazine suggested the name "Felix", as in "feline", and for contrast of the felicity traditionally associated with a black cat. Knudson liked the suggestion and so he went with the name of Felix for the first protagonist in his envisioned interconnected story full of multiple protagonists. After finishing off the design for the decoy protagonist of the 1920s Saga, Knudson hired Walt E. Disney and Roy O. Disney to design the actual main protagonist of the saga: Mickey Mouse.

Death[edit | edit source]

Knudson would be diagnosed with cancer in October 1965. He passed away on February 24, 1967 at the age of 71. Around this time, Knudson was halfway done through with the 60s Saga. C.O. Wheezer would take over and finish the rest of the 60s Saga and all remaining sagas afterwards.
