In the 1920s Noir Saga, he was hired as a private detective specifically for this trait and essentially served as a human lie detector. He is also a "time warper" as in he can teleport his body to whatever time period he chooses without using a time machine. Once Oswald came back to the then-present 1920s saga via time machine, Mortimer came up to him, inexplicably glowing with some unknown magic energy and holding an orb on one hand and a gun on the other before shooting him and hiding the body in a trash can in the alley right next to his offices. Despite knowing that Oswald was mentally possessed by the Tabotagus and was framed by a demigodly being, he still shot him because he had an insane rivalry against him as well and wanted his brother to take the light. This all happened before Mortimer would realize that Michael is a fraud, discover his hatred towards his own brother and eventually felt more and more guilty and paranoid over killing Oswald Rabbit. He'd oftentimes sob to himself at night at the sheer thought of that fateful night.

Mortimer Mouse (né Rodent) (モーティマーマウス, Mōtimāmausu), introduced as Mr. Slicker (スリッカー氏, Surikkā-shi) is an anthropomorphic mouse that serves as a member of the 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 SUSiety!, is Michael "Mickey" Rodent's longtime rival and SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS his brother. Mortimer hated his brother to an extent that he legally changed his surname from Rodent to Mouse to further the distance between them.

He is telepathic and can see the true intentions and motivations of other characters. He inherited this ability from his great-grandfather after he ate the Pizza that grants you telepathy and time teleportation. Strangely, Michael did not similarly inherit these traits for some reason and as a result has no superhuman powers.

Overview

Creation and Behind the Scenes

After finishing off the design for the decoy protagonists of the 1920's, Sir JD Knudson hired Walt Disney and Roy O. Disney to design the actual main protagonist of the saga. A mouse character was eventually conceived, and Walt dubbed his new creation "Mortimer Mouse". His wife, Lillian Disney, felt that the name was "too pompous" and instead suggested "Mickey Mouse".

Later on, a storyline within the narrative's comics premiered titled Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers. This storyline introduced introduced a rival suitor for Minnie's affections in the form of a lanky city mouse by the name of Mr. Slicker whose debonair behavior hid a conniving personality. Mr. Slicker's design resembled that of Mickey's early appearance in Plane Crazy, albeit taller and with striped slacks and dress shoes as opposed to Mickey's trademark shorts.

General Information and Characteristics

Personality and Traits

Mortimer is very obnoxious, argumentative, egotistical, arrogant, snooty and rude, the total opposite of his rival. Mortimer is said in his youth to be Minnie's ex-boyfriend and she possibly left him due to his nature. While he claims he loves Minnie very much, he is shown to be an incredibly selfish narcissist, as seen in his debut cartoon where he leaves Minnie to be attacked by a bull that he provoked.

Not only that, he attempts to flirt with any female character on the screen which might also indicate the reason the relationship between him and Minnie was abolished. Mortimer can also be rather sexist and discriminatory, as seen in "Mickey's Rival Returns" where he feels that Minnie is only a prize to be won. As well as being cocky and intransigent, he can also be rather annoying and vituperative.

Aside from his cocky and sexist attitude, Mortimer proves to be, time and time again, rather intelligent and crafty. On many occasions, he's managed to manipulate Mickey into a scheme that'd end in the downfall of his relationship with Minnie. For instance, in one episode, Mortimer managed to fool the town's government into arresting Mickey. In another episode, he manipulated Mickey into believing Minnie desires a more sophisticated boyfriend, resulting in the mouse changing his persona to the point where Minnie believes he's out of her league, leaving her in the hands of Mortimer.
