Stardust the Amethyst Cat
| “ | I am Xing-Yu Zi Jing-Mao, empress of Garnet City and commander of the Amethystmen! But you are free to refer to me as... Stardust! | ” |
| “ | You see, unlike that incompetent fool Bianfu-Wang and his mindless Jade Bats, I have standards. I take over China by stealing whatever I can get my paws on. But I execute my plans with ease and to the point, not with simply doing it without question and ending up failing. I can already say that the Amethystmen and I are superior over the Jade Bats in every way possible! Someday, everything in China will be mine... and eventually, other worlds will suffer the same fate! | ” |
Stardust the Amethyst Cat, also known by her Chinese-translated name, "Xing-Yu Zi Jing-Mao," is one of the main antagonists of the SpongeBob & Sagwa series on SBFW along with Yu Bianfu-Wang who joined the League of Gangstas. She is a malevolent gemstone cat spirit serving as the empress of Garnet City, the leader of the Amethystmen, the self-proclaimed mentor of Spongetrocity, and the rival of Bianfu-Wang. Stardust made her debut in SpongeBob & Sagwa 2 (as well as its TV movie adaptation) and, like her rival, was temporarily defeated prior to her resurrection in Season 4.
Appearance
Stardust appears as a tall purplish-grey cat with amethyst gems for spots on her back, green eyes with large single eyelashes and vertical pupils, purple auras constantly illuminating from her eyes, a bushy and scruffy tail, and a Chinese calligraphy symbol that represents evil tattooed on her forehead.
Personality
Stardust is portrayed as the stingy, sadistic, merciless, prideful, and intelligent leader of an army of gemstone spirits known as the Amethystmen, who were the rivals of the Jade Bats. She is also the arch-rival of Yu Bianfu-Wang. Because of this, Stardust has different strategies and decisions from him. Unlike Bianfu-Wang, her method of trying to take over China is finding whatever she can steal, even if it takes relying on others to do it for her, which was the main reason behind Plankton awakening her to keep the Noodle Patty formula in SpongeBob & Sagwa 2. She also has more calculating and well-executed plans than Bianfu-Wang, as well as better treatment of her minions. Therefore, it is also implied that she is a lot smarter than her rival and is more laid-back and flexible. While Bianfu-Wang tends to be intolerant of failure, Stardust will often accept failure if her plans go to waste, though she still shows no remorse for anything she does. Stardust is known to be a seductive temptress, as she can easily persuade anybody she considers "desperate" or "hopeless" to join her. Often, she will make false promises by means of getting what she wants, thus fueling her greed. It is debatable whether or not she is greedier than Mr. Krabs. While Mr. Krabs will frivolously do anything for money, Stardust will target a specific artifact with help from the Amethystmen and her apprentices. Another personality trait that sets Stardust apart from Bianfu-Wang is her lenience. Bianfu-Wang tends to treat both of his minions with disdain and have favoritism towards Siren, whereas Stardust sees potential in both of her followers and treats them on an equal scale. However, this is ultimately out of sheer deceit. She will only discard a minion if they have a habit of making too many mistakes, or if they continuously refuse to comply with her orders.
Powers and Abilities
- Feline Physiology: Stardust is primarily incarnate in the form of a domesticated cat. As such, she possesses all feline senses. However, they are each beyond the capabilities of normal cats.
- Enhanced Intelligence: Stardust has intelligence that surpasses the average IQ of cats and even humans, and it is one of the reasons she considers herself and the Amethystmen superior to the Jade Bats. She has mental capacity beyond the limitations of others, able to identify any advantages and disadvantages to her plans. Furthermore, she calculates the steps to making her plans successful. This ability is demonstrated whenever she wants to take an ancient artifact for herself.
- Enhanced Vision: Stardust possesses visual acuity far greater than that of an ordinary cat. She can make out her surroundings in clear and sharp detail, detect objects or living things from a far distance, and make out messages that are almost indecipherable to the naked eye. Likewise, she has the sub-powers of night vision and fog vision. While normal cats can see better in the dark than humans, their night vision is limited to low light levels. Stardust can see perfectly well in the dark, whether in dim light or complete pitch blackness. In addition, she can see right through thick waves of fog or mist that otherwise limit the vision and distance of others.
- Laser Vision: Other than having superior visual calibration, Stardust can voluntarily shoot laser beams from her eyes.
- Telepathy: One of Stardust's most prominent abilities is to read people's minds, obtaining information based on their personality, emotions, motives, and thoughts. This allows her to determine if somebody is worthy to be a vessel of hers. However, she does not just use this power to persuade others to her own advantage. She uses it for control over certain powers.
- Healing Factor: Stardust can heal any physically-inflicted wounds or increase her stamina.
- Earth Manipulation: Stardust has the power to manipulate solid matter and terrain to her advantage. She can generate boulders and amethyst crystals, and use them for offensive reasons, such as firing shards at her opponents and blocking off escape routes. As for defense, she can generate solid shields that will protect her from any form of attack. In addition, she can cause earthquakes of her own volition.
- Intangibility: In addition to having superhuman earthen abilities, Stardust has the ability to phase through solid matter with little to no effort.
- Invisibility: Stardust can render herself undetectable by means of tricking people, as well as stalking them or performing surprise attacks. This ability correlates with her intangibility.
- Shapeshifting: Stardust has the ability to change her appearance at will for numerous purposes. She can take on a variety of different forms and disguises, ranging from sentient beings to inanimate objects. She demonstrates this with her alternate wisp-like form, and in the episode "Snailfury," when she assumes a snail disguise to hypnotize Gary and other snails into obeying her commands.
- Duplication: Stardust can multiply herself into any number of clones to confuse or overwhelm her enemies. Her clones are fully capable of mimicking her appearance and powers.
- Resurrection: Demonstrated in SpongeBob & Sagwa 3 between her and the Fright Stone. Stardust can bring supernatural entities that are imprisoned back into the world of the living. Despite this, Stardust cannot bring back people who have been deceased, thus making this ability limited to supernatural beings.
- Power Augmentation: This is the rarest power that Stardust uses in case she feels outnumbered or outsmarted. She can temporarily upgrade her abilities as well as the abilities of others.
