Leprechauns (神器, Shinki, lit. "Divine Vessel" or "Divine Instrument") or Keyblades, are a unique and mysterious race of young, artificially created humanoid and anthropomorphic disfeatured girls who are thought to be created from the souls of the dead children. They are notable for their ability to take on the form of weapons that one can use to battle—them being the only weapons capable of fighting the monstrous Daemons—they serve as the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪'𝔰 last line of defense and most important asset against the forces of Darkness and Chaos that plague the Omniverse.
Raised under the watch of the Asgardian Government, leprechauns are most notably known for being the only species within the Known Omniverse to have hearts of pure light, devoid of any darkness which the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪 holds very importantly and also is the reason for why they are able to damage daemons.
On Earth of Universe-1218, due to historical misinformation from the fact that Lucky the Trans Leprechaun was the only leprechaun to travel to earth, this led to the many people depicting leprechauns as little bearded men, wearing a green coats and hat, who partake in mischief. In later times, the people of earth even depicted them with a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Per generation, seven of the many leprechauns randomly receive the gift of the Seven Maidens of Hearts which makes them the chosen keys for each of the individual seven vaults across the Omniverse heavily guarded by the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪. The seven girls chosen are also traditionally considered to be the representation of the seven elements of harmony, also more traditionally, the seven heavenly virtues of God.
Development[edit | edit source]
According to an interview with hack writer, Tetsuya Nomura, the original weapon for Phase Two of the Moccasins Saga shown during development was actually a chainsaw-like weapon. This was eventually scrapped in favor of the Key-shaped Leprechaun weapon design due to Disney being a bunch of NPC cucks who thought it was too scary.
History[edit | edit source]
Origins[edit | edit source]
Leprechauns are a race that came into existence over trillions of years ago. Currently, the origins of Leprechauns are unknown.
The 2nd Keyblade War[edit | edit source]
However, the first known usage and creation of Leprechauns was first seen in the “age of fairy tales” by the Master of Masters, who was capable of extracting the souls from the hearts of dead children using his knowledge of the χfinity Heart. The conflict though embroiled with the separation of the χfinity Heart shattering into two overall pieces: One of light known as the Purity Heart and one of darknesses known as the Chaos Heart. The final site of this war became the barren Keyblade Graveyard, littered with ancient dead leprechauns who all died in their keyblade forms.
The Shattering Heresy[edit | edit source]
Long before the current incarnation of the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪, Xehanort served to protect the light from darkness. However, Xehanort's natural curiosity about the darkness and his research into the Leprechauns eventually led him to realize the sovereignty of light upheld by the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪 was tyrannical and misguided. Xehanort learned about the true nature of Leprechauns and Daemons and believed that both deserved retribution and sought for the annihilation of all Replicants including himself since he believed that Replicant and their lives was simply full of misery and Chaos was a better option for them all. If he was to accomplish this goal, he would need to collect all the seven sacred shards of the Purity Heart with and the combination of the Chaos Heart to activate both Light and Dark Prognosticuses and return the world back to Chaos which would free Leprechauns and Gestalts from their miserable prisons that he called life. This would lead to the creation of Satanism and the eventual shattering of the Purity Heart into seven shards by the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪.
Modern Era of the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪[edit | edit source]
After the betrayal of both Xehanort and Amaterasu which resulted in massive damage to the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪’s control and strength, the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪 put Odin in charge with the watch and control over the Leprechauns thus, the Leprechaun Program was moved to Asgard and was monitored solely by the Asgardian Government with the other pantheon not being allowed to interfere due to fear of any future betrayal with the ℑ𝔪𝔭𝔢𝔯𝔦𝔲𝔪 being much more paranoid now.
Biology[edit | edit source]
Leprechauns are a female only race and are infertile. Biologically, all leprechauns’ posses a humanoid/anthropomorphic form which can come in any form and appearance, they could look like a cat, human, vampire, hedgehog, pony, rabbit, fennec etc.
A unique and important feature of leprechauns is their ability to sprout massive wings which can come in any feature (Avian-like wings, insectoid-like wings, reptilian/mammalian-like wings, etc.) from their back which enables the ability of flight. They sprout wings when they hit puberty, which is known as metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is an extremely painful process for leprechauns since it requires the skin to slowly be ripped apart for the sake of the wings to release out of the body. Because of that, leprechauns take pain medication or even get an operation to artificially release the wings beforehand depending on the severity of the condition. All leprechauns are also unique in their venenum manipulation, where they can use venenum to power up their attacks. However, the more they use venenum, the quicker the chances of mental disintegration will set in, or they'll burn out their live spans as a result.
Keyblade Forms[edit | edit source]
A leprechaun can take the form of objects, including weapons, vehicles, and clothing, or animals, including mythical creatures. These forms are known as Keyblade forms due to the weapons that leprechauns take the appearance that occasionally have distinguishing features that are modeled after a key. An individual leprechaun’s keyblade form will vary from one wielder to another. Sword techniques that are derived from various Martial Artists can be used in coordination with a leprechaun's Keyblade form to pull off special abilities that are specialized to that keyblade, these martial artists often combine various aspects of the duality of Magic & Science to pull these moves off, some can unlock certain forms unique to the welder. 𝓓𝓪𝓯𝓯𝔂 𝓜𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓮𝓻 𝓓𝓪𝓷𝓹𝓲𝓮𝓻𝓻𝓮 can unlock his ultimate form, ☯𝓣𝓻𝓲𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝓲𝓼, only under specific conditions. He must first reach the final stage of his Holy Zoot Suit Keyblade Armor, a transformation that grants him unparalleled strength and mystical power. While in this state, he is required to recite both lines from the Dark Magic tome known as the Aztec Grimoire, an ancient text of forbidden incantations. In addition, Daffy must achieve a state of perfect Zen focus while wielding both of Hänsel and Gretel’s Keyblade forms. Only when all of these requirements are met can he perform Zanshin, an advanced Esper martial arts technique that is unique to espers like him.
Lifespan[edit | edit source]
Leprechauns are notable for their very short life spans of 131,490 hours. After this time limit, most leprechauns’ programming becomes corrupted due to numerous failed attempts at overwriting old information resulting in a leprechaun’s mental state becoming rotted within. After a leprechaun goes through mental disintegration, they approximately have another 43,830 before their souls fully wither out and expire resulting in permanent death of consciousness.
Tuning Process[edit | edit source]
When a leprechaun goes through puberty, they are required to go to specialized Asgardian funded hospitals in order to be tuned to be compatible with a wielder and to enable them to grow up safely. Upon arrival, a doctor and their nurses give them a basic check-up and perform tests to determine the risk of mental disintegration within them. The leprechaun is then treated for any cavities or illnesses that they may have, and they stay there overnight. In the morning, the leprechaun gets an injection and are allowed to leave soon after.
Mental Disintegration[edit | edit source]
All Leprechauns possess a high risk of psychosis and neurodegenerative diseases. The leprechaun will start experiencing hallucinations, emotional instability, the decline of cognitive abilities, the loss of memory, and the gradual decline of thought, leading to the leprechaun's death. The process can also be hastened if the leprechaun expends even a little venenum. During this process, the mental disorders, personality disorders, neurodegenerative illnesses, and many other mental symptoms that a leprechaun could gain are:
- Schizo-affective Disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Mood Disorders (Bipolar or M.D.D.)
- Borderline Personality Disorder (B.P.D.)
- Alzheimer's
- Dementia
- Dissociative Identity Disorder (D.I.D.)
Not all cases of mental disintegration are the same though, some may gain all of the symptoms, while others will gain only one or two.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
Allusions[edit | edit source]
- The entire bases of the leprechauns' roles as child soldiers who can take the forms of weapons is based around the Demon Weapons from Soul Eater, Blades from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Shinki from Noragami, and most importantly, Keyblades themselves from the Kingdom Hearts Re:Make project on YouTube. In these stories, the weapons are living and consciousness beings who can think for themselves. This introduces an important factor with the weapon and the wielder having to gain a strong and healthy relationship in order for both to successfully fight in combat with proper coordination. This idea initially came from the very badly written world building of the Keyblades within canon Kingdom Hearts where it was extremely unclear if Keyblades were sentient or not since it seemed they were in the original Kingdom Hearts when the Keyblade willingly struggled to pick Sora or Riku but afterwards, that idea was mostly scrapped. Keyblades are much more well defined in the Kingdom Hearts Re:Make rewrite project and so, writer Dung Eater decided to use it as the bases of what Keyblades should be in the story. This further expends on the horrific and grim-dark nature of the story with the once lovable and simple Keyblades now being a constant reminder to viewers that they are nothing more then artificially created child soldiers made to fight and sacrifice their worthless existence for the greater good of the war between Light and Darkness.
- This inspiration is also a secret spite decision due to one writer hating both Soul Eater and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and believing that he himself can create a better story with these concepts that aren't fucking ass.
- This does though create some conflicts with the already established story of Kingdom Hearts, especially with who and how the hell will Sora's leprechaun partner be implemented in the OG Kingdom Hearts story. Furthermore, how does No Name work with this rewrite? Will No Name be a none keyblade weapon? Fuck if I know, I'll let Mana figure that out lol.
- Another major inspiration for the leprechauns, this time regarding their lore, would be that of Pixls from Super Paper Mario and Emil from Nier. Both being ancient sentient living weapons created and used by the Ancients from the dead souls of individuals (mostly children due to specific lore reasons).
Story[edit | edit source]
- Guptill considers all leprechauns to be worthy of representing HOT CHICK HEAVEN.
Character & Design[edit | edit source]
- The idea of merging leprechauns and keyblades is to create a deconstruction of Gijinka a.k.a. Moe Anthropomorphism which in this context, would be to take weapons and turn them into cute anime girls. However, due to the immense grim-dark setting of the Omniverse, the writers wanted to deconstruct this simple idea by showcasing the harsh reality of what it would look like if a girl was raised to be a weapon all their lives and the severe trauma and mental damage that would cause someone like in real life.
