Together, Daffy and the twins are extremely energetic and vivacious, sometimes even spreading unintentional happiness to anyone and everyone they meet without conscious effort. This would include the likes of famed sociopathic mass murderer: Jonkler (formerly known as the Joker) and the mentally unstable assassin Rosarita Cisneros. One key and integral part of them is that their personalities remain unchanged no matter how much challenged they face together among their many adventures which is a testament to their indomitable will.

While the twins tend to follow Daffy's lead, they do so not out of obligation or deference but simply because they want to, delighted in how their partner can make them laugh. In fact, on many occasions, they take the lead since Daffy is a complete moron. Whether working separately or together, Daffy is extraordinarily kind to them all the time unlike anyone else in the entire show he has treated. This goes the same for the twins as the two become much more heroic when they're together unlike what they used to be before ever meeting. Throughout the Freaky Saga, they put themselves in danger for the sake of their allies time and time again and among other kindnesses, the two have encouraged the likes of many characters within the story like Tails and Cosmo to be brave and face their worst troubles.

We see later on that whenever Daffy and Gretel are involuntarily separated, she feels pretty sad showcasing how strong the two's bond had become ever since they first met. Daffy, meanwhile, thinks about Gretel constantly and cannot wait to reunite with her anytime they're separated. His conversations with 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂Bob strongly imply that he values himself little in comparison to the twins, and he is persistently perplexed that 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂Bob could possibly admire him. While Daffy considers himself 'lucky' that someone like Gretel actually wants to be by his side, Gretel thinks the world of him in equal measure.

Neros Q may have also had a crush on her or maybe thought she was her sister, or twin, or captive, and/or potentially alter-ego since Neros has stated in episode 53 of the Pizza Party Podcast that Neros is Zeros and Zeros is Neros without giving any real explanation as to what that even fucking means. <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> would eventually become the main overarching protagonist of ''entire '''Fanboy and Chum Chum''' franchise''. One day, while skipping around the cyberpunk world of the new 5700s, Daffy saw a black-dressed white-haired girl watching the sunset with a melancholic expression. It turns out this girl was none other than Gretel. Daffy being his usual weird self, decides to start a conversation with her and calls out to the girl. Hearing Daffy, Gretel turned around and stared at him, before thanking him for taking the time to talk to her and cheering her up with his eccentric demeanor. After awhile, Gretel trips but is thankfully caught by Daffy. Once she's up, Daffy jokingly scolds her for her recklessness which makes her giggle. Before leaving, she tells Daffy her name and as she is about to walk off, Gretel turns around and asks if she could ask a request of him. Daffy blinks and asks "Yeah, what is it?" and Gretel asks if he could forget about her. She then runs off skipping happily, leaving Daffy wondering what the hell she meant by that.

<span style="color:#ff55d3;">Ruby Amelia Rose</span> was found abandoned next to a tree near the Leprechaun Orphanage on October 31st, 1996 AD in a box at the age of 5 with amnesia. <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> was not left with a note, simply a doll that had "Amy" written on it and so Sister Lane gave her the name <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amelia</span> for <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> . Unfortunately for the poor girl, like many Catholic Based Institution, she suffered a lot of abuse and bullying within the orphanage growing up. This was especially enhanced because of her unique power of causing bad luck wherever she went. Many nuns and orphans believed her to be cursed and demonic because of this and further the bullying and abuse even more.


One of the most traumatizing moments for <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> within her life at the orphanage would have been when one day, the MontClair family came to the orphanage, wanting to adopt <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> as their child. A young girl who was the only nice girl <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> had as a friend in the orphanage had overheard the conversation and was upset that her friend was going to be adopted and live with her new parents. Although <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> really wanted to have a mother and a father, she told her friend that she would decline them so the two of them could stay together forever as she never wanted to abandon someone like how she was. Her friend was comforted by her words and they made a plan. The next day, <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> purposely acted like a little child, faking that she wets the bed every night. She responded with little to no manners and soon the MontClair family gave up on her. What they did not know was that even though they didn't want <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> any more, their focus had turned to her friend who had always wanted parents of her own as well so she couldn't turn them down and accepted to become their adopted daughter. <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> was so distraught at her friend's decision, sad and absolutely heartbroken that even after she did everything to make them stay together, her friend said yes just like that. <span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> had a panic attack believing that she was once again abandoned by someone she trusted and cared for. She saw her friend as a the closest thing she ever had as true family and she would always do anything for her, but it was obvious it wasn't the same with her friend.

<span style="color:#ff55d3;">Amy</span> is an extremely innocent, kind-hearted, open-minded, gentle, compassionate and optimistic girl who sees the good in everyone she meets and is willing to help them no matter what shows and what they've done in the past. She does not hold any grudges toward those who have wronged her or even physically hurt her, especially in regards to Odin, who has physically and emotionally scarred most of her friends and partially got her mother killed. Despite being abused and losing many family at a very young age, she always tries to have a smile on her face, remaining sweet, hard-working and positive. She also is considered to be very airheaded, selfless, and considerate of other people's feelings.

Despite the toxic and pedophilic nature of the relationship, Daffy biologically being a 50-year-old middle aged man and the twins biologically being preadolescent children, there is a huge following of fans who thoroughly ship Gretel and Daffy together. Fans of Χαυλεγβμαοφφφασσσσιτιμιωοαμνδυτροαβκωαπωαελιπποφφφχ either separate the age gap from the relationship, or fully embrace it as an interesting part in the dynamic and enjoy the unique romance between them. On the other hand, some fans feel an immense guilt for shipping the two with awareness of the toxic relationship. Even as a pedophilic ship, the ship has like nine gazillion fan-fictions due to how FUCKING EPIC it is.
 
Originally, within the greater community, Gretel and Daffy's relationship had been the focal point of discussion, analysis, and most notably, backlash. Prior to the two truly becoming more romantically open, some fans attempted to downplay the pedophilic content, arguing that Daffy didn't like the twins and only saw them as sisters or as his children. It was also a popular downplaying that the girl's feelings for Daffy were unrequited and that Daffy just saw them as friends which of course is not true. A minority of people even hoped for the two to go their separate ways, but this never happened given the story's dark tone and the constant reinforcement that Daffy and Gretel are too codependent for this to happen.
 
Some responded to the controversy by making light of the duo's themes, with a great deal of fan content and discussion ironically endorsing or otherwise joking about the pedophilic element. For a time, it became a meme to make edits of other child and adult duos in fiction with the faces of Gretel and Daffy to ironically imply that the random characters chosen were attracted to each other. Some were very disapproving of the controversy, and in turn disapproving of the fans who were fine with other disturbing elements of the game (cannibalism, incest, murder, etc.) yet drew the line at pedophilia amongst two psychotic villains. On the same day, the official Chick-fil-A account tweet also had many people replying about Lumity. On Twitter, Yoko Taro's official twitter account had Daffy show up as a fourth wall joke. There, Daffy seems to get very nervous when fans ask if he likes the twins. He mostly tries not to talk about it and never answers while 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂Bob even asked him if “[he’]s running away from [his] feelings again as usual?”, but Daffy just ignores him and runs away. They are a nonsensical villainous duo who serve as the true overarching protagonists of the entire CrösS;OVEr multiversal franchise as revealed after the post-timeskip of the storyline. Both are extremely powerful alone but together, they become absolutely brutal. Daffy and Gretel are true eldritch horrors, meaning they cannot age, get sick, be injured, or die via conventional means.

𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂Bob thinks they make a cute couple while everyone else in the entire Omniverse thinks they're both the worst duo to ever exist. Most even feel heavilly disgusted even imagining the the two dating and sharing any romantic feelings due to the obvious weird ass age gap that would make any sane person hurl.

They finally realize that they have not physically aged in 5730 due to how fucking retarded they are.

Canon

Personality

Together, Daffy and the twins are extremely energetic and vivacious, sometimes even spreading unintentional happiness to anyone and everyone they meet without conscious effort. In the process, they often befriend all manners of unlikely allies who later join the 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 SUSiety! due to them. This would include the likes of famed sociopathic mass murderer: Jonkler (formerly known as the Joker) and the mentally unstable assassin Rosarita Cisneros. One key and integral part of them is that their personalities remain unchanged no matter how much challenged they face together among their many adventures which is a testament to their indomitable will.

While the twins tend to follow Daffy's lead, they do so not out of obligation or deference but simply because they want to, delighted in how their partner can make them laugh. In fact, on many occasions, they take the lead since Daffy is a complete moron. Whether working separately or together, Daffy is extraordinarily kind to them all the time unlike anyone else in the entire show he has treated. This goes the same for the twins as the two become much more heroic when they're together unlike what they used to be before ever meeting. Throughout the Freaky Saga, they put themselves in danger for the sake of their allies time and time again and among other kindnesses, the two have encouraged the likes of many characters within the story like Tails and Cosmo to be brave and face their worst troubles.

We see later on that whenever Daffy and Gretel are involuntarily separated, she feels pretty sad showcasing how strong the two's bond had become ever since they first met. Daffy, meanwhile, thinks about Gretel constantly and cannot wait to reunite with her anytime they're separated. His conversations with 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂Bob strongly imply that he values himself little in comparison to the twins, and he is persistently perplexed that 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂Bob could possibly admire him. While Daffy considers himself 'lucky' that someone like Gretel actually wants to be by his side, Gretel thinks the world of him in equal measure.

On the whole, the couple are wildly impulsive and follow whatever whim has caught their fancy. It should be noted that they are not completely oblivious and certainly not stupid, as others might think. Gretel and Daffy are very observant, for an example, they were the only and first ones who figured out that 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂stian was a spy.

History

Villain Meets Girl

One day, while skipping around the cyberpunk world of the new 5700s, Daffy saw a black-dressed white-haired girl watching the sunset with a melancholic expression. It turns out this girl was none other than Gretel. Daffy being his usual weird self, decides to start a conversation with her and calls out to the girl. Hearing Daffy, Gretel turned around and stared at him, before thanking him for taking the time to talk to her and cheering her up with his eccentric demeanor. After awhile, Gretel trips but is thankfully caught by Daffy. Once she's up, Daffy jokingly scolds her for her recklessness which makes her giggle. Before leaving, she tells Daffy her name and as she is about to walk off, Gretel turns around and asks if she could ask a request of him. Daffy blinks and asks "Yeah, what is it?" and Gretel asks if he could forget about her. She then runs off skipping happily, leaving Daffy wondering what the hell she meant by that.

Fandom and Reception

As the primary focus of the entire narrative, Χαυλεγβμαοφφφασσσσιτιμιωοαμνδυτροαβκωαπωαελιπποφφφχ is slowly becoming the most popular ship in the entire franchise, almost out-passing Micknnie in iconic status. Despite the toxic and pedophilic nature of the relationship, Daffy biologically being a 50-year-old middle aged man and the twins biologically being preadolescent children, there is a huge following of fans who thoroughly ship Gretel and Daffy together. Fans of Χαυλεγβμαοφφφασσσσιτιμιωοαμνδυτροαβκωαπωαελιπποφφφχ either separate the age gap from the relationship, or fully embrace it as an interesting part in the dynamic and enjoy the unique romance between them. On the other hand, some fans feel an immense guilt for shipping the two with awareness of the toxic relationship. Even as a pedophilic ship, the ship has like nine gazillion fan-fictions due to how FUCKING EPIC it is.

Originally, within the greater community, Gretel and Daffy's relationship had been the focal point of discussion, analysis, and most notably, backlash. Many found the portrayal to be deeply unsettling and distasteful, causing the Freaky Society's role as protagonists to receive a great deal of controversy. This controversy especially heightened after the two started dating. However, just like most backlash, it had the side effect of bringing additional attention to the story, causing it to blow up in popularity. Prior to the two truly becoming more romantically open, some fans attempted to downplay the pedophilic content, arguing that Daffy didn't like the twins and only saw them as sisters or as his children. It was also a popular downplaying that the girl's feelings for Daffy were unrequited and that Daffy just saw them as friends which of course is not true. A minority of people even hoped for the two to go their separate ways, but this never happened given the story's dark tone and the constant reinforcement that Daffy and Gretel are too codependent for this to happen.

Some responded to the controversy by making light of the duo's themes, with a great deal of fan content and discussion ironically endorsing or otherwise joking about the pedophilic element. For a time, it became a meme to make edits of other child and adult duos in fiction with the faces of Gretel and Daffy to ironically imply that the random characters chosen were attracted to each other. Some were very disapproving of the controversy, and in turn disapproving of the fans who were fine with other disturbing elements of the game (cannibalism, incest, murder, etc.) yet drew the line at pedophilia amongst two psychotic villains. Those who defend the pairing argue that the backlash towards the pedophilia is overblown given the entire story's intentionally edgy and unsettling themes, and felt that the pedophilia helped make the story even more uncomfortable and tragic, given the nature of its genre being an existential and psychological horror. Though few argue that a relationship between Gretel and Daffy would be an ideal outcome, many do consider it the best possible conclusion to their story since both are so mentally unstable and traumatized that being together is all they have. Some believe that the two can be happy if they simply accept one another and their own feelings, while others have little attachment to the outcome aside from dark curiosity.

On National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, many passionate Χαυλεγβμαοφφφασσσσιτιμιωοαμνδυτροαβκωαπωαελιπποφφφχ shippers replied to a tweet by the official Arby's account with content relating to Daffy and Gretel. On the same day, the official Chick-fil-A account tweet also had many people replying about Lumity. On Twitter, Yoko Taro's official twitter account had Daffy show up as a fourth wall joke. There, Daffy seems to get very nervous when fans ask if he likes the twins. He mostly tries not to talk about it and never answers while 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂Bob even asked him if “[he’]s running away from [his] feelings again as usual?”, but Daffy just ignores him and runs away. Coop then mentions, “Well, one thing's for sure now, the Dungs N' Roses fans are gonna go nuts.”

Allusion

  • Gretel and Daffy's relationship and dynamic is confirmed by the Dung Eater to practically be the crackship version of Isaac and Miria (from Baccano!). They are basically the most comedic couple of all time. This is also somewhat interesting since the two also share some qualities based on Claire and Chané from the same series; that being Claire's philosophy and personality for Daffy and Chané's muteness for both twins.

  • The ship name "Dungs N' Roses" is canonical in-universe, as it appears in a slideshow presentation 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂Bob made.
  • Yoko Taro has confirmed that Daffy is heterosexual and Gretel is intended to be bisexual.

  • They have a height difference of 95.42 cm. The twins being 20 cm and Daffy being around 185.42 cm tall.

  • During their fight against Master Xehanort, Daffy and Gretel share an attack called One Heart, in which they grow a pair of wings and fly together; one being a black wing and the other a white wing. You can see that the feathers of their wings all contain the memories they shared together. Furthermore, a popular fan theory states that the symbolism behind the wings could potentially be a reference to Tanabata (Japanese festival about two mythical star-crossed lovers) and Jianjians (birds born imperfect, with only one eye and one wing, that can only fly when they act as one, thus representing husband and wife).

  • Yoko Taro worked on a picture of Daffy sitting on a throne just like Gretel does, possibly implying them to be respectively queen and king. This was also suggested by a specific transition involving the chess pieces that can be seen in the opening of Xehanort's and Odin's game.
