'''𝙵𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚛''' or '''Ugly Sonic''' (as he’s affectionately named by the internet) was the original design for [https://sonic.fandom.com/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_(Paramount) '''Sonic the Hedgehog'''] in the 2020 Sonic the hedgehog film by Paramount Pictures. However, his appearance was severely negatively received by the general audience, describing his design as disturbing, deep in the uncanny valley, or more simply, “Ugly”. Due to the critical backlash from fans and regular onlookers, the film was delayed, as the studio would take time to redesign the character’s look to be more in line with his game appearance (which being the film we got). Years later, the original design would make a surprise return as a cameo in Chip N' Dale: Rescue Rangers, subsequently making him his own separate character. Ken Penders would try to make him one of his protagonists and shoehorn him in an official Sonic project. He is one of the four protagonists of NPC Propaganda show, the Masterbation Dairies post season 2 after Penders successfully ruined Skylark and friends who were the stars of the first two seasons for good. He is forced to be tortured by Dexter Fishery because Dexter wants to be a simp.

==Appearance==
Ugly Sonic has a much more realistic and detailed look than any of Sonic’s prior looks, taking on a much more distinctively and proportionally humanoid/anthro appearance compared to his game counterpart's more cartoony look, his signature red shoes now more resemble regular running shoes, and he doesn't wear gloves exposing his clawed bare hands, which are a stark white, making it superficially resemble his gloves at a distance. Lastly and most distinctly, his eyes are separated and much smaller.

In ''Chip N' Dale: Rescue Rangers'', his appearance is mostly the same, however, he now possesses a much more overweight physique (likely as a result of letting himself go/stress eating) and now wears a brownish-orange coat alongside black shades.

==The trailer==
The trailer was finally released to the "joy" of fans, the trailer focuses mainly on revealing the character's appearance, which was exactly what shocked everyone. Sonic with his ugly appearance, with a human body and without gloves, the character seemed to have the same abilities, faithfully to the games, however, his appearance caused his image to be destroyed.

==The reproval==
His look was so hated by critics and fans that he was replaced.

==The return==

After a few years after the release of the first movie with the new Sonic, ugly Sonic appeared again, here he seems to be fat and with the appearance of someone retired. He seems to know everything the fans said about him, ironically, it was from there that he was truly loved, precisely because of his unexpected return.

==Trivia==
*The only thing that made them change their look was the huge complaints from fans.
*The film had to be postponed for 1 year due to a change in the look.
*Ironically, everyone hated him at first, but when he reappeared, everyone started loving him, like "look, it's Ugly Sonic!"
*Its first appearance was on a poster and in a GIF in the dark, which many fans made interpretations of what the look would be like, including even creepy and satire looks, as was the case with [[Movie Sonic (Lumpy Touch)|Sonic movie (Lumpy touch)]]
*Some people believe that the first version of the film in which this Sonic lives can be found, however to this day this has not happened.
